Officers on the Association's Board of Directors are elected and serve non-compensated two year terms. Consisting of a president, vice president, secretary/treasurer and six directors representing the membership, the Board runs the day-to-day functions of the organization and is the primary decision-making body on labor issues.
The Association has retained the services of Mastagni, Holstedt, Amick, Miller, Johnsen & Uhrhammer, one of California's leading law firms representing law enforcement and public safety employees. The Association is also affiliated with the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), as well provides legal representation for it membership through the PORAC Legal Defense Fund.
The Association also provides its membership the opportunity to receive group rate insurance discounts through thru payroll deductions. A variety of insurance policies are available to protect a member's financial well being in the event of disability due to injury or illness, as well as additional protection in the event of accidents or specific health events.
Besides representing its members in labor issues with the Solano County Sheriff and the Solano County Board of Supervisors, the Association also promotes the professional welfare of its membership; fosters a positive image of correctional officers within the community; and serves as a forum to exchange ideas and views of its diversified members. The Association also serves as a means for bring its members together through social events and recognition awards.
